Midfielder Alfie Egan has extended his stay at the club after signing a new contract to keep him at the Kuflink Stadium until the end of the 2021/22 season.
The 23-year-old joined the club in summer 2019 from AFC Wimbledon and under Dennis Kutrieb this past season, the London-born midfielder has blossomed, enjoying a very strong finish to 2020/21 that included the winning goal against Hampton & Richmond, a man-of-the-match display at Havant & Waterlooville and two cracking strikes in recent friendlies.
His form has been so impressive of late that Alfie has caught the eye of National League play-off contenders Maidenhead United and he will now join the Magpies on loan until the end of this season before returning to the Fleet in May.
With Alfie’s future at the Fleet now completed, the opportunity to continue playing football for the remainder of this season is beneficial to both his development and fitness and we wish him the very best of luck for the remainder of 2020/21 before welcoming him back to the Kuflink Stadium for pre-season preparations.
