Preview: Maidenhead United

The Fleet will round off January with a visit from the only side we have yet to play this season – Maidenhead United – as a busy February looms.

Form guide
Before Tuesday night’s defeat to Maidstone, the Fleet were the current most in-form side in the country across the top six divisions and will look to put that Kent derby result behind them to continue a strong record on home soil.

Maidenhead are 11th in the table with 12 wins this campaign, having seen their midweek game postponed. Their last outing was a 1-1 draw at Chesham United following previous successive victories.

Head to head
Following multiple postponements of the scheduled York Road fixture, you have to go back to April at the end of last season to find our last match, which the Magpies won 2-0. However, the Fleet edge the head-to-head with 10 wins compared to Maidenhead’s eight in our 25 meetings in total.

Who’s who
Liam Dulson is the 23-year-old leading scorer for the Magpies with nine goals in this campaign. The winger/forward arrived at York Road in the summer following his departure from Cheltenham Town where he made 35 appearances for the Robins.

Josh Umerah is a former Fleet striker (below) signed in the summer following his departure from Dagenham & Redbridge where he spent two seasons. The 29-year-old featured 36 times for the Fleet during the 2019/20 season with five goals, including two against Maidenhead that season. He has also played for Boreham Wood, Hartlepool United and Wealdstone.

The manager
Ryan Peters took the reins at Maidenhead United in November following the end of Alan Devonshire’s 10 years at the club. Peters has picked up four wins from a possible seven so far into his short tenure.

Tickets can be purchased online in advance here. Supporters can also buy on the day at our ticket windows next to the stadium reception/entrance (but not at the turnstiles themselves).

Car-parking is available for the special matchday price of £3 (cash only) at Ebbsfleet International Car Park C. This is cash only and parking is available from 12:30pm. Please make sure you get a ticket from the steward in attendance and not from the ticketing machines which will not apply the discounted matchday price.

Tomorrow’s fixture is NOT segregated.

The Rose pub
The Rose Pub (1 Rose Street, DA11 9EQ) is open to home and away supporters. Located close to both the ground and Northfleet and Ebbsfleet stations, it’s an ideal venue for that pre- and post-match drink with bar snacks available.

Food and drink
Our popular Eat Street van will be available for food (hot dogs and burgers) and beverages. Our Main Stand Kiosk and Geeks Corner Kiosk will be stocked with pies, pasties and sausage rolls along with light snacks, soft drinks plus tea and coffee.

Alcoholic drinks can be purchased in the social bar (located in front of the turnstiles) and the Main Stand Lounge bar. Beers on tap include Fosters, Cruzcampo, Brixton Reliance, Guinness and Moretti.

Our four-pint pitchers can be used in the Main Stand Lounge bar, the Social Club and the area behind it. Please do not bring pitchers into the Main Stand, the Plough End or the Geeks/Swanscombe End terraces.

Programmes
Our Fleet Review programme can be pre-ordered online with your ticket or from our online shop here. In the ground, you can purchase in the club shop, just past the main turnstiles and at the Plough End social club. Please note, pre-ordered programmes must be collected from the club shop at the main reception entrance BEFORE entering the ground.
