Two became one as Fleet’s single point of the Easter period proved enough to take them into the play-offs after Welling and Dover both suffered defeats.
In a largely frustrating afternoon during which Tom Phipp and Joe Howe both hit the woodwork in the final 10 minutes, Fleet pressed for the goal that would guarantee them their play-off place without, in the end, really needing it.
But with gilt-edged chances for the home side’s Danny Hockton and Lee Boylan both squandered in the second half, it wasn’t all plain sailing in a game the Fleet dominated in terms of territorial advantage. Ricky Shakes also blazed a shot over as the visitors created plenty of chances without ever quite finding the killer ball.
The only bad news for the Fleet was a later injury to goalkeeper Preston Edwards but the extent of that was not known as the side celebrated their top five finish.
