The Fleet team up with Her Game Too initiative

Ebbsfleet United are delighted to announce a new partnership with Her Game Too and have desginated this Satuday’s match against Rochdale – also a Her Game Too club – to the campaign.

The Fleet join a number of clubs from the EFL and beyond to commit to the cause to create further awareness to the problems faced in football by females. Her Game Too was founded by 12 passionate female football fans who are committed to growing the campaign with the aim of fostering an ethos in football in which women are welcomed and respected equally.

The non-profit organisation aims to create awareness, educate, research, develop a strong sense of community and create strong relationships with clubs, alongside much more.

Further aims include creating regular content to champion women in football (players, staff and fans), creating strong relationships with club trusts and communities, having a presence at football grounds and sports bars to build a more welcoming environment for young girls and women, as well as continuing to campaign against sexism in football and online abuse.

On entering into partnership with Her Game Too, the club said: “We are delighted to join on board with Her Game Too in what is a great campaign in creating awareness with tackling sexism in football. Ebbsfleet United welcomes everyone to the Kuflink Stadium – and by partnering alongside Her Game Too it allows the club to showcase our support.”

The Fleet’s Her Game Too club ambassador, Katie Lovell, told the club website: “Being a supporter for the last 16 years and attending matches since 10, I’m honoured to be a part of the partnership between Her Game Too and Ebbsfleet. The Fleet has always been a huge part of my family with my Uncle Derreck attending since 1949 and I couldn’t be more grateful to be part of the club’s community. The support shown by the Fleet in backing women and tackling sexism within football has been amazing and shines a light on the inclusivity and diversity at Fleet, along with how great our club is.”
