River Day and Community Day announced by EUFC

New Year 2017 seems an age and three games ago, but the Chinese New Year begins on 28th January and celebrations run for two weeks! Gravesham Council are running a series of events to support these celebrations on Tuesday, 31st January, including a “Waking of the Lion” parade starting from Gravesend Borough Market to Community Square at 11.00 am.

Meanwhile, other important dates for your diaries in 2017 (apart from Fleet fixtures, of course!) are:

Wednesday 12th April 2017 (Easter School Holidays)
EUFC Day on the River Thames – organised by Gravesend MVS, this event is aimed at disabled young people who are Fleet fans or relatives of friends of Fleet fans. Contact myself or Kenny at the club if you are interested in being part of this day.

Sat 15th April 2017
EUFC Community Day (v Eastbourne Borough) – with the focus again on “All the Fun of the Fair”. The aim is to exceed last year’s attendance of 2,267 (set against today’s opponents Chelmsford). Watch out for more news as the day approaches.

The EUFC Over 50s Walking Football trials on Wednesday, 11th January, went well with more than 15 triallists, braving the dropping temperature and ‘the Gritler’ to be put through their paces. Apart from a minor distraction during the evening, the trials went well and the next stage is to fix the date for two friendlies, one to be played at home and one away. Kenny is discussing the details of taking this initiative forward with John Burgess and the Fleet Supporters Trust Board.
