Fleet midfielder Jack Powell has today joined Maidstone United on a permanent transfer.
The 24-year-old ex-West Ham youth joined the Fleet from Millwall in the summer of 2016, scoring on his debut against Poole Town with the first of many direct free-kicks, a feat that was to become a hallmark of his game throughout his time at the club.
He won promotion via the play-offs with the Fleet in his first season and was a regular starter in our return to the National League as we qualified for the play-offs, scoring twice against Maidstone at the Gallagher last January and also setting up Luke Coulson’s goal at Prenton Park in the semi-final against Tranmere Rovers.
He has started seven games this season, scoring from a free-kick in our home defeat to Bromley.
In all, Powell played 109 games for the Fleet, scoring 24 goals. All at the club wish Jack all the best in his future career and thank him for the many goals he scored and his contribution to our success over the past two seasons.
