Fleet boss Daryl McMahon has picked up the Vanarama National League South Manager of the Month for January.
The manager guided his side to four wins out of four in the league in a tough programme that included fellow promotion rivals Dartford, Chelmsford City and Poole Town as well as a tricky away tie at Wealdstone.
He made that five out of five as Fleet started February off with a bang, beating Concord Rangers 4-0.
The Vanarama National League press release stated, “Whilst the Fleet like others in the Vanarama South current play-offs positions are all striving to catch leaders Maidenhead United, if any club is to claw back the deficit then the Kent club does have the infrastructure in place on and off the field to make it. January has thrown up a number of difficult games and Daryl this time around knows that his squad must hit the ground every month if the target of promotion is to be achieved come season end. A 100% league record in the month has been a very creditable platform on which to build towards the dream and he has generated belief in his players to be part of that. Success is a team game.”

The Vanarama South player of the month was won by Ian Herring of Hungerford Town, who are the next visitors to Stonebridge Road. Sutton United and Lincoln City also won special achievement awards for their Emirates FA Cup exploits.
Congratulations Macca and team!
