Ebbsfleet United announced tonight that 20-year-old former Dover Athletic defender Lloyd Harrington has joined the club.
Steve Brown said, “Lloyd is a talented young defender. He sustained a cruciate injury last season (ironically against us) and has worked hard to make a full recovery. I have always wanted to have four central defenders in my first-team squad and the fact Lloyd is versatile and can operate at centre half, left back and in midfield makes him a very useful addition to an already strong squad.”
Harrington said, “I have been training with the team and played 15 minutes in the home friendly with Charlton and 45 minutes against Portsmouth last Saturday. There is a real buzz around the club and it is a great move for me. As soon as I sat down with Steve Brown and discussed his future plans I couldn’t wait to sign and I am really looking forward to the challenge”.
Harrington is a product of the Dover youth system and played for England schoolboys before signing his first contract and breaking into the Dover first team in April 2012. He also appeared in Dover’s play-off final at Salisbury in 2012-13.
