Midfielder Scott Heard of Whitstable Town has turned down the chance to join Ebbsfleet United following a formal seven-day approach.

Manager Steve Brown said, “Scott has impressed me on the three occasions I have seen him play. We made a formal approach for him last week but League rules meant we couldn’t speak to him until today.

“He has subsequently signed a contract with Whitstable and the player has decided not even to speak to us which is disappointing but it happens and we wish Scott and Whitstable all the best for the rest of the season”.
