Fleet to visit Aylesbury in the Cup!

The Fleet have been draw away to Aylesbury United in the Third Qualifying Round of the Emirates FA Cup following today’s draw.

The Buckinghamshire side currently play in the Southern League Central Division at Step Four, sitting in 12th place. They have won four games and scored 19 goals in the competition already, having entered at the Extra Preliminary Round stage. They have beaten Fairford Town 2-0, Brimscombe & Thrupp 8-0, Willand Rovers 4-1 and Bishops Cleeve 5-1 on Saturday.

The Ducks are previous opponents of the Fleet from our Southern League and Ryman League years. We first met in the Southern League Premier in 1986 and were more regular foes in the Nineties, with Aylesbury runners-up in the Ryman Premier in 1998/99.

We have only met before once in a cup tie, the lesser-known Guardian Insurance Cup in 1997. This will be our 10th meeting in all.

Aylesbury play at Chesham United’s Meadow ground, with a 5,000 capacity.
