The Fleet are pleased to confirm that winger Sean Shields has agreed terms to stay at Stonebridge Road in 2016/17.
The 24-year-old, whose arrival at the club was arranged by Daryl McMahon via a loan deal when the Fleet manager was caretaker boss, signed permanently from Dagenham & Redbridge in January 2015 and has totalled 27 games for the club, scoring three times.
Although he had to sit out the early part of last season with injury, Sean played on loan for Chelmsford City, Margate and Hemel Hempstead Town, almost sealing a permanent move to the Gate in January 2016. However, having impressed with his performances upon his return to the club at the end of 2015/16, he has secured his immediate future at Ebbsfleet United.
Sean is a former Northern Ireland U21, breaking through on to the international scene at the same time as former Dagenham teammate and new Fleet signing Jack Connors, who played for the Republic of Ireland U21s at the same time. Sean, who has also played for Potters Bar Town and St Albans City, tweeted earlier today: “Pleased to have extended my stay with EUFC for the forthcoming season. Looking forward to the challenge ahead!”
