Ebbsfleet United have today clinched the signing of Antigua & Barbuda international defender Marvin McCoy.
The right-back, aged 27, was most recently a teammate of Dave Winfield’s at York City where he spent a season and a half, departing the former League Two club in January.
McCoy began his career in the youth ranks of Arsenal and Watford but it was at Wealdstone where he settled in 2008 and made a name for himself. He was supporters’ and players’ player of the year at Wealdstone in 2009/10 and moved into the Football League with Wycombe Wanderers in 2010. He played alongside both Winfield and Stuart Lewis at Adams Park, amassing more than 100 appearances in Leagues One and Two, and was part of Wycombe’s 2010/11 promotion side.
The player moved to York in the summer of 2014 where he added another 50 Football League appearances before departing Bootham Crescent last season and his signing today sees him go straight into the squad for contention at Hungerford Town tomorrow.
