Firth firms up Fleet first-team berth

Academy goalkeeper Harrison Firth has made the step up to the first-team squad complete having signed following his 18th birthday yesterday.

The young keeper was one of several academy players to train alongside Dennis Kutrieb’s senior players last season and he was rewarded with appearances in the Fleet’s practice matches at the end of 2020/21, including a live YouTube streaming as he earned 90 minutes at home to Dorking Wanderers.

Firth’s first taste of senior action came in the Kent Senior Cup at Ramsgate in January 2020.

His involvement has gradually ramped up in that time and he joined the first-team for training on day one of pre-season at the beginning of July. He has also played in several friendlies this summer, alternating with Chris Haigh, at Punjab United and Chatham Town.

Congratulations to Harrison on his achievement in graduating from the club’s academy; his progression and development will be carefully monitored by the club’s coaching staff as he joins the Fleet’s first-team squad on a daily basis.
