Alfie Egan has become Dennis Kutrieb’s second announced signing for the Fleet this summer following the completion of a new deal for the 2020/21 season.
The 22-year-old left AFC Wimbledon at the end of 2018/19 having spent seven years with the Dons and following a successful pre-season trial with the Fleet, he signed for last season, going on to make 11 starts and 25 appearances in all in a red shirt.
He made his debut against FC Halifax Town on the first day of the 2019/20 campaign and was in the starting squad at Hartlepool when Fleet secured the first of successive 1-0 wins ahead of the lockdown.
South Londoner Egan, who played in League One with AFC Wimbledon, was delighted to sort out his future for the coming season, telling the club website, “To come back for another year is truly exciting. I’ve had a chat with Dennis, Damian and Steve and I want to be part of next year’s plans. It’s clear we’re going to have a group with the same ambition, same goals and that can only be good for the club.”
