Defensive duo sign deals

Fleet Academy graduates Ollie Boulding and Karn Miller-Neave have signed one-year deals with the club after featuring in pre-season and training alongside the first-team.

The defensive pair accompanied the first-team players to Portugal in early July but have been in and around the senior squad for some time. Left back Miller-Neave, of course, burst on to the scene with his free-kick goal against Hythe Town in October 2014, making him the fourth youngest goalscorer ever in the FA Cup. He has since played in Kent Senior Cup games and made his Fleet league debut in April 2015 against Bishop’s Stortford.

Similarly, Boulding cut his teeth in a couple of Kent Senior Cup games last season and impressed in the right-back berth. He made his league debut from the bench against Eastbourne Borough on the last day of the 2015/16 season.

Fleet boss Daryl McMahon has worked alongside the pair from their days under his management in the academy team and he has made no secret of the fact he’d like to bring through homegrown players into the first-team, with Boulding and Miller-Neave now set to compete for a place and make the step up to senior football.
