Get to the heart of your heritage

My notes this week are dedicated to letting you know about some of the forthcoming events this September being held by one of our key Community Partners, The Gr@nd…

Gravesend Heritage Tour
Saturday, 12th September 2015
Location: Meeting 1pm outside Gravesend Library, Windmill Street
Explore the heart of Gravesend’s heritage and secrets on Saturday, 12th September.
The tour is a short walk along King Street and then inside the County Court building (now the Gr@nd Healthy Living Centre). Refreshments and lunch are available at the Bench Café at The Grand afterwards.

The heritage tour, which is free, will be run by local historian, Christoph Bull – there’s no need to book, just turn up. For more information please contact Christoph Bull on 07702 287147 or email [email protected]

The Gr@nd’s Swap Shop
Saturday 12th September 2015
Location: The Gr@nd Healthy Living Centre
Swish your way to a new wardrobe and improve your wellbeing. The Grand Healthy Living Centre is inviting people to exchange unwanted clothing, shoes/accessories at a charity pop-up clothes swap in aid of the British Heart Foundation. Simply bring up to 15 good condition pieces and you will receive clothing tokens which you can use to swap for something else.

The event takes place on Saturday 12th of September at The Gr@nd, 26 King Street, Gravesend 11am to 3pm. £3.00 per person (including one hot drink from the Bench Café). The event is all part of the Gr@nd commitment to the ‘6 Ways to Wellbeing’ (Be Active, Keep Learning, Give, Connect, Take Notice and Care for the Planet) which are shown to improve people’s wellbeing.

Building them into your daily life can help you feel better, can improve your mood, strengthen your relationships and help you cope when life doesn’t go to plan. Once again, for more information, email [email protected].
