Ebbsfleet United’s Academy side rounded off their season with a 1-1 draw at Eastbourne Borough to finish the season in fourth place, seven points clear of Dartford.
Daryl McMahon’s young side just failed to overhaul Maidstone and Dover and take the runners-up spot. In windy conditions by the coast, Fleet were denied by the weather and an inspired goalkeeping performance that kept out the five or six excellent chances that the visitors carved out. Louie Allen netted the Fleet’s only goal from the penalty spot.
With only three points separating the top four sides in the Football Conference Youth Alliance, it has been an excellent first season for the Fleet, with many of the younger squad members playing against in a higher age group.
