Fleet agree Gash sale

More than 2,350 MyFC members cast their votes inside 24 hours and agreed to sell striker Michael Gash to an unnamed club for £55,000.

The total votes in favour numbered 2,215 (94.2%) with 136 (5.8%) no votes.

The offer had been made public on Thursday evening with the terms as follows:

  • £30,000 on signing
  • £25,000 on 1 January 2010
  • and a sell-on of 20% of money received should Michael Gash be transferred from the unnamed club in the future

In addition, the sell-on fee to Gash’s previous club Cambridge City has been re-negotiated to 15%. This means that £7,000 will go to Cambridge City, with the Fleet grossing £48,000. If in future Michael Gash is transferred by the unnamed club, Cambridge City would receive 30% of the 20% that EUFC would receive from the sale.

Liam Daish commented before the vote result, "Weighing everything up, I think this is the right deal for Ebbsfleet United and Michael Gash. It will make a considerable difference to our playing budget and enable me to bring in a number of the players we’ve been looking at over the last few week. I have spoken to Michael and he has expressed a wish to move on."

Club accountant Graeme Swift added, "Financially, this looks like a sound move for Ebbsfleet United. It will increase our Net playing budget by £890 per week as well as free up the current wages of Micahel Gash. It will certainly give Liam Daish more options."

Michael Gash arrived from Cambridge City in a deal worth £20,000 last summer, paid for from the proceeds of a MyFC pledge. He has also played for Cambridge United
