Josh Wright wins December award

Fleet manager Josh Wright has won the Enterprise National League’s manager of the month award for December as the Fleet’s three successive league wins plus progress in the Isuzu FA Trophy against National League opposition saw his squad end 2025 in fine form.

The League’s statement on its award said, “After last season’s incredible title race, the division’s promotion quest is really heating up again – and two clubs who had wonderful months hope to play a big part.

“Josh Wright and Ebbsfleet United hardly had a 2025 to remember. But a new year brings new hope after ending the last one with a flourish. They started the month with an agonising last-gasp defeat to in-form Worthing but found the spark to breathe new life into their season.

“An FA Trophy victory over Braintree Town got things going before three wins in the league – they were successful at Chelmsford City before seeing off Tonbridge Angels and Dorking Wanderers.

“Wright takes the acclaim ahead of Maidstone manager George Elokobi, Adam Hinshelwood and Marc White – but Dorking Wanderers don’t miss out. That’s because Charlie Carter’s mega month from midfield couldn’t go unrewarded by our panel.

“He was in fabulous form as Dorking upped the heat on the teams at the top, scoring some stunning goals to keep his club firmly in contention for the title. Carter hit six goals in as many games to close out 2025 in style, including a fine hat-trick against Eastbourne Borough.”

Carter’s Player of the Month award came at the expense of fellow nominees Pemi Aderoju (Eastbourne Borough), Toby Byron (Worthing) and our own Dominic Samuel.
