Bingham’s banging ’em in for another campaign

Top scorer Rakish Bingham is back to lead the line for the Fleet in our anniversary season.

The 27-year-old striker played 22 games last season on his way to firing 11 goals in the curtailed campaign. On his debut on the opening day of the season, Bingham fired home the winning penalty kick to send Fleet through in the FA Cup and he then scored a brace in his next start at Braintree, his first league game for the club.

The experienced Londoner signed last summer from Dundee United, where he helped the club secure promotion to the SPL. He enjoyed a long spell in that division with Hamilton Academical before that and has also played for Wigan Athletic, Mansfield Town, Hartlepool United, Cheltenham Town and Doncaster Rovers.

He slotted straight into Dennis Kutrieb’s Fleet lineup, returning an increasingly impressive goals-to-games ratio as the season progressed. Joined by Dominic Poleon as the campaign concluded, the pair were forming an eye-catching partnership that they rolled over into the club’s end-of-season training matches and it’s a double act – now supplemented by yesterday’s announcement of Elliott Romain’s signing – that will be looking to terrorise National League South defences in the new campaign ahead.
