Fleet hope to raise roof with Reise

Ebbsfleet United have added a loan signing to the squad ahead of the trip to Dagenham & Redbridge tomorrow. Coventry City have allowed 22-year-old striker Reise Allassani to move to the Kuflink Stadium on a three-month loan deal and he goes straight into tomorrow’s squad.

Allassani is a former England U16 and U17 youth who came through Crystal Palace’s youth ranks and played alongside the likes of Joe Gomez, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Alex Iwobi for his country as a junior.

Hailed as one of the game’s rising stars before an illness and a cruciate knee ligament injury checked his progress at Selhurst Park and then robbed him of a contract offer at Sheffield Wednesday, the highly rated attacker resurrected his career with Dulwich Hamlet last season, and was in scintillating form for the south London side, scoring 17 goals in 31 games for the Bostik Premier’s play-off winners.

League One newcomers Coventry fended off the interest of numerous other clubs, paying a fee for Allassani in the summer, and this season he has played twice in the EFL and also in the EFL Trophy.

At Dulwich he played up front in a two or down either side in a three-strong attack. Known for his pace, strength and ability with the ball at his feet – “a massive goal threat on the dribble” according to former manager Gavin Rose – he has an eye for goal and is also something of a surprise package in the air.

Fleet vice chairman Dean Pooley said, “We would like to thank Coventry City for allowing Reise to join us and for the professional manner in which they have conducted negotiations with us over the past few days to enable us to get this deal done as soon as possible. Reise is clearly an exciting player and I look forward to watching him in an Ebbsfleet shirt.”
