The club announced this afternoon that Billy Bricknell has had his contract terminated by mutual consent.
Vice chairman Peter Varney said, “Billy has been an integral part of the squad here for the past 18 months and has been a model player on and off the pitch and we wish him every success in his future career. I am aware Billy has interest from a number of clubs.”
Billy Bricknell said, “I am really sad to be leaving the club but with all the new signings made I realise that my playing opportunities going forward may be limited. I have really enjoyed my time at the club and I am going to miss all the people at the club who have looked after me so well.
“I would like to thank the supporters for all their backing throughout my time and I wish the club nothing but success.”
Billy joined the Fleet in the summer of 2013 and scored 31 goals in 61 starts, with another 19 appearances from the bench.
