Twenty-year-old midfielder Jordan Sanderson became the 23rd member of the club’s first-team squad when he put pen to paper on a one-year contract this afternoon.
The trialist was previously with Colchester United, having come through the Essex side’s academy and he made his U’s debut on the final day of the 2010-11 season, prior to signing a professional contract. The tall central midfielder spent time on loan at Chelmsford in 2010-11, playing a key part in the Clarets’ run to the play-offs that season.
Fleet boss Steve Brown told FleetOnline, “Jordan was released by Colchester in the summer and he has been on trial with us since the beginning of the pre-season run of games. He played very well at Dulwich Hamlet and then sustained a hamstring injury and he came back into the squad against Gillingham and gave a very tidy cameo performance in the latter stages of the match.
“I have been very impressed with his attitude and skill in training and I am pleased he has further added to the strength in depth of our first-team squad.”
