Fleet midfielder Dean Rance has scooped the award for Players’ Player of the Year, the annual award voted for by the squad for the teammate they consider to have had the most outstanding season.
While enjoying their short team break in Dubai, the first-team squad came to a unanimous decision to award the prize to 23-year-old Rance who has made 47 appearances this term, scoring three times – but who missed out on the Promotion Final to suspension.
Previous winners in recent years include Joe Howe and Preston Edwards. Anthony Cook, of course, scooped the Supporters’ Player of the Year award before the play-off games.
Club vice chairman Peter Varney applauded the decision, telling FleetOnline: “Dean has performed consistently well throughout the 2013/14 season and has thoroughly deserved this award.”
