Whoever emerges triumphant from Tuesday night’s replay between Ebbsfleet United and East Thurrock United at Stonebridge Road will reap the reward of a home tie against Doncaster Rovers in Round One of the Emirates FA Cup.
The tie would be played on the weekend of 3rd/4th/5th November, with Saturday 4th being the most likely date unless the match is chosen for a TV broadcast.
If Fleet can progress it would be the third meeting with Doncaster, following two league clashes in 2002/03 when Rovers were in the Conference. Managed by Sir Alex Ferguson’s son Darren, Doncaster are currently 18th in League One.
Daryl McMahon and his squad are hoping for a big turnout of home fans for the replay v East Thurrock with the reward of probably Stonebridge Road’s biggest cup game since facing Notts County some 14 years ago at stake.
