Will’s in as Fleet complete Tizzard business

Josh Wright has added to his defensive options with the capture of 23-year-old centre-back Will Tizzard.

The Bristol-born player reached the National League South promotion final last season with Torquay United where he ended the campaign on loan.

Starting out in Southampton’s academy, Tizzard gained senior experience on loan at Chippenham Town and he was one of the few defenders to enjoy a clean sheet against the Fleet in our title-winning 2022/23 season.

Following his departure from Southampton, he moved north of the border to spend two seasons in the Scottish Championship with Queen’s Park, reaching the final of the Scottish Challenge Cup with the Spiders.

After ever-present spells in Scotland, he returned to English football last summer to sign for Sutton United in the National League before helping turn Torquay’s form around late into last season.

With physical attributes as well as keen ball-playing skills, the new signing fits the mould for the Fleet heading into the 2026/27 campaign.
