U14s lift Kent Reliance County Cup

Ebbsfleet United’s U14s lifted the first of three possible trophies this season, triumphing over Bromley in extra-time of the Kent Reliance County Youth Cup Final.

The game, played at Faversham Town’s Salters Lane, saw the Fleet take a 42nd-minute lead through Nathan Fialho. Bromley fought back 20 minutes later when Marley Carr’s left-foot strike beat Fleet keeper and man of the match Ieuan Ferris. But the reds edged back in front in extra-time with substitute David Falako’s goal proving to be the winner for Paul Setters’ side.

Fleet had already seen off Meridian VP, Holmesdale, VCD Athletic, Folkestone Invicta and Thamesview in the competition en route to the final. The U14s have another cup final – the Reader & Phillips Challenge Cup (on Thursday 22nd March, 7.30pm at Glebe FC’s Foxbury Avenue ground in Chislehurst) against Erith & Belvedere – and could yet win the U14 Central League, being five points behind leaders Danson Sports but with six games in hand.

EUFC: Ferris, King, Burgess, Vine, Bissett, Fialho, Cotton, Granger, Raishbrook, Currie, Giles. Subs: Eam, Falako
