Tanner in tow for third Fleet season!

Ebbsfleet United begin the week with our latest player retention announcement as Craig Tanner joins those already revealed in signing new contracts for the 2023/24 National League season.

The midfielder returns to the top tier of non-league from where the Fleet signed him in 2021 after a season and a half at Aldershot Town – though Tanner of course has played higher still with experience in the Scottish Premiership, League One and League Two, while he also made three Championship appearances for boyhood club Reading.

Weymouth were among the teams who had no answer to Tanner’s twists and turns

It’s at the Fleet, however, where he will ply his trade once more in 2023/24. It was his eighth goal of the 2021/22 campaign that had the Fleet on the verge of promotion as the creative midfielder also weighed in to top the assists chart that season.

Tanner was well on the way to emulating those stats again last season – including two stunning goals to secure points early on at Weymouth – before injuries in January and March ended his campaign prematurely.

With recovery over the close season well in hand, Tanner’s talents will once again be on show and we look forward to welcoming the 28-year-old back to the Kuflink Stadium in pre-season.
