Stadium state of play attracts radio interest

This coming Tuesday morning BBC Radio Kent will be carrying out interviews with some of the main players involved in the ongoing Ebbsfleet United stadium project to gain an insight into the positions of the various parties.

To be aired during the Breakfast Show slot between 6am and 10am, Charles Webster will be speaking to Fleet vice chairman Peter Varney as well as Liz Dyson, the chief archaeological officer for Kent County Council, and Peter Price – the principal planner at Gravesham Borough Council and case officer for the stadium improvements application.

Following the interviews, a write-up will also appear here on FleetOnline.

Work on the Stonebridge Road stand had been due to begin towards the end of May but several of the conditions imposed by Gravesham Borough Council, particularly some challenging archaeological requirements, has delayed the process despite the club’s speed and diligence in providing supporting documentation.

The club has made an application to discharge the archaeological and other pre-construction conditions and the Council and KCC have another six weeks to respond.
