An experienced, energetic and assured midfielder, Fonguck started out in Crystal Palace’s youth setup and was briefly with Croydon before he was scouted by Barnet and joined their youth academy in 2014.

He made his debut aged 17 for the Bees and after loan spells with Hendon and Hampton & Richmond, he broke into the Barnet first-team with the club in League Two.

He made more than 150 appearances in his time at The Hive, scoring 15 goals, and also earned England C honours in 2019.

He switched the Bees for Southend United in the summer of 2022 and across two seasons with Kevin Maher’s side, he played 73 games, scoring five times.

Fonguck was announced as an Ebbsfleet player in July 2024.
