CORDNER
Tyler Cordner
This is the centre-back’s second spell with the club after he returned on a season-long loan from York City in summer 2024.
He made 24 appearances for the Fleet in an earlier loan spell here from AFC Bournemouth during the first half of the 2019/20 season. The defender came through Bournemouth’s academy and played for the Cherries’ U23s while also gaining a first taste of National League football with a season on loan at Havant & Waterlooville.
Cordner has gone on to amass plenty of experience in both League Two and the National League. He played for both Scunthorpe United and Southend United on loan in the EFL before a permanent transfer to newly promoted Weymouth in 2021 returned him to the National League.
A standout season with Aldershot Town in 2022/23 saw Cordner captain the England C side, score nine times from defence and become the Shots’ player of the season amongst numerous other awards, making way for a move north to York City in 2023, who paid a fee for his services.
