It’s been a day of striker action at the Fleet with the news that Elliott Romain has signed a new deal to follow the earlier announcement of Shaq Coulthirst’s return to the Kuflink Stadium.
The experienced Romain made the switch to full-time football at the Fleet after leaving Dartford last summer and he played a big role in the unbeaten end to last season and the push to the promotion final.
Romain, 30, made 22 starts and a further 21 appearances from the bench in 2021/22 as he struck eight goals to add to the many he has scored for the likes of Dartford, Maidstone United, Dagenham & Redbridge, Torquay United and Eastbourne Borough in a seven-year career at National League/South level.
Prior to his first spell at Eastbourne, Romain was prolific for the likes of Lewes, Three Bridges and Horsham YMCA after leaving Millwall as a youngster.
