There may not be much going on pitchside in these early summer months but Stonebridge Road’s new main stand has gained some identity to its public-facing facade with the lifting into place of the club badge.
The centrepiece of the club’s main stand redevelopment, the 3m-high badge featuring the Fleet’s famous halved East Indiaman at full sail and football, was hoisted into position during Tuesday as the final fitout of the building gathered pace.
The red hoardings which have surrounded the construction site for the past year are also ready to be removed shortly, with the central pair of boards, close to the stadium’s new public entrance, having come down already.
The bus stop is in line for relocation further to the right of the new stadium entrance.
