Raks racks up another Fleet season

One of the Fleet’s chief tormentors of Vanarama National League South defences over the past three seasons, Rakish Bingham will spend his fourth season doing the same a level up as he signs for 2023/24.

Needing little introduction to Fleet supporters after passing the 100-appearance mark last season, Bingham is – alongside Ben Chapman, Greg Cundle and Jack Paxman – one of the Fleet’s longest-serving players having been signed by Dennis Kutrieb in his first months in the job.

Bingham was the club’s top scorer for the first two campaigns of his time at the Kuflink Stadium and last season formed a devastating partnership with Dominic Poleon that produced 56 goals between them on the way to the league title and various scoring records.

Bingham weighed in last season as the front pair fired 56 goals between them

Bingham’s contribution of 16 goals and a joint table-topping assists return of 13 perfectly illustrated the value he brought to the side until his untimely injury at Slough Town brought the curtain down on his 2022/23 season.

The former Mansfield, Hartlepool and Hamilton front man also entered the club’s all-time top 25 goalscorers last season and with 46 Fleet goals to his name, another successful season would propel him towards the Top 15.

But on the road to recovery now, and with vital experience that sees him take the skipper’s armband in the absence of Chris Solly, Bingham’s return to action will be eagerly awaited by fans as he prepares for his first taste of National League football.
