Yeovil Town make an appearance under the Kuflink Stadium lights for the first time in five years having just edged the previous meeting between the sides back in August. With the two teams fresh from draws at the weekend, both will be looking to gain the maximum three in the first National League evening kick-off of 2025.
Form guide
Yeovil are in ninth place in the National League with 10 wins although they are on a run of four matches without a win, having drawn their most recent match last Saturday with Fleet’s next opponents Woking. Yeovil do have a better away record than home however, with six wins on the road against four at Huish Park.
Last time out
Yeovil secured the points in the first meeting in August in a five-goal thriller at Huish Park. Despite coming back from two goals down – thanks to goals by Dom Samuel and Lewis Page – a late strike by Harvey Greenslade nicked it for the Glovers. His first goal for the club, Greenslade has just returned to Yeovil from a loan spell at Weston-super-Mare.
This will be the 59th meeting of the two sides, with our fixture history going back to the Fleet’s first season in 1946/47. Yeovil’s last trip here (pictured) was in August 2019.
January business at Huish Park
Jacob Maddox was one of two January signings so far for the Glovers. He is an attacking midfielder who arrived on a permanent transfer from fellow National League side Forest Green. A former Chelsea youth, he had a brief spell in Portugal before playing for Walsall.
Ciaran McGuckin returns on loan from Rotherham United for the remainder of the season. The forward had a successful short spell with Yeovil at the start of the campaign. McGuckin has scored two goals in seven appearances for the Glovers. Whilst at Rotherham, the 21-year-old also had loan spells at Dundalk and Scarborough Athletic.
Other loan players include Sean McGurk, a December arrival from Swindon Town, and attacking player Kofi Shaw whose loan from Bristol Rovers has been extended to the end of the season. He returns from suspension this Tuesday.
The manager
Mark Cooper arrived at Yeovil Town in 2022 and secured promotion back to the National League at their first attempt. An experienced former Exeter City and Tamworth player, Cooper has also managed the likes of Tamworth, Kettering Town, Forest Green, Peterborough, Swindon Town and Barrow. He will be serving a touchline ban during tomorrow’s match against the Fleet. His son Charlie is likely to feature in the starting lineup for the Glovers.
