It’s the longest trip of the season for the Fleet as 2024/25’s league runners-up Torquay United host Josh Wright’s team in a league fixture in between two cup ties.
Form guide
Torquay sit fourth in the National League South table, six points off the top. The Gulls have scored the most goals of all teams so far this campaign with 18 but are the only side in the division yet to keep a clean sheet which contrasts with the Fleet’s four clean sheets and the third lowest conceded goals behind Hemel Hempstead’s six and Weston’s five.
Head to head
It’s been almost six years since the two sides came face to face when a goalless draw earned the Fleet a point in January 2020. Before that, a 1-1 draw in April 2018 (below) clinched a National League play-off place for the Fleet.

Who’s who
Torquay’s leading goalscorer this season with five goals is 26-year-old Jordan Young. A familiar face to the National League South having played over 110 matches in the division for the likes of Yeovil Town and Chippenham Town before he arrived at Plainmoor in 2024. Since his arrival, Young has featured 42 times for the Gulls with 15 goals along the way
An experienced new face to Torquay’s 2025/26 squad is former Bromley striker Louis Dennis. The 30-year-old arrived at Plainmoor following his departure from Hayes Lane. Across two spells with the club, Dennis made over 200 appearances with over 40 goals and also played for the likes of Portsmouth and Leyton Orient between those two spells.
The manager
Former midfielder Paul Wotton arrived at Torquay in 2024 following his departure from Truro City, where he won promotion to the National South, missing out on another promotion with Torquay last season on goal difference to his former club. During his professional playing career, the 48-year-old played over 550 times, most notably for Plymouth Argyle. Wotton made over 400 appearances for the Pilgrims across two spells.
