March begins at the Kuflink Stadium this Saturday with a first visit in 12 years from newly promoted Tamworth.
Form guide
Tamworth have picked up four draws in their last five fixtures, against Hartlepool, Woking, Southend and Rochdale whilst falling short to Yeovil Town. They led until late on against Rochdale in midweek before an equaliser meant sharing the points. Currently 15th in the National League table with 41 points, the Lambs aren’t quite out of danger but will be looking to get the points on the board sooner rather than later to head past the 50-point mark.
The Fleet will want to build on some good home displays in recent weeks and having led twice at Wealdstone last Saturday, will look to continue adding goals to the much-improved defensive performances shown against the likes of Rochdale and Forest Green.
Last time out
In November, the Fleet traveled to the Lamb Ground in a 1-1 draw. Aaron Cosgrave was on the scoresheet with 27 minutes on the clock but that was cancelled out by a strike from Kai Williams 11 minutes from the end. The Fleet ended the match with 10 men as Franklin Domi was dismissed for a second bookable offence. Tamworth’s visits to Stonebridge Road have been few and far between in recent years and their only win in Northfleet came in 2009/10.

Who’s who
Centre midfielder Tom Tonks is a willing runner who arrived at Tamworth in November 2023 from Rushall Olympic. Recognised for his long throws, the Lambs skipper has provided plenty of assists from that main weapon in his arsenal. Like many of the Tamworth squad, he has been recruited from lower-level clubs in and around the Midlands.
Jas Singh is in goal for the Lambs and is currently in his seventh season with the club. Singh has kept 30 clean sheets in 82 appearances for the club and also played for the likes of Solihull Moors, Gloucester and Telford. Last season he set a club record for successive games without conceding as Tamworth won the National North title.
A familiar face for Fleet fans is Haydn Hollis who signed for the Lambs from Dorking Wanderers in the summer. Hollis spent 18 months at the Kuflink Stadium where he made 47 appearances and picked up a National League South title medal with us.
The manager
Andy Peaks joined Tamworth in February 2022. He was previously a player for Northampton Town, Rushden & Diamonds and Stamford before managing AFC Rushden & Diamonds. He took the club to three promotions and a play-off place before the move to Tamworth where he achieved relegation survival in his first season and then successive promotions from the Southern to the National League.
