Rochdale head south as they visit the Kuflink Stadium for the first time in their history as both sides look to push on from recent three-goal victories.
Form guide
Despite two matches without a loss, Rochdale’s recent form sees them 22nd in the form table, although their position of 11th in the National League table wouldn’t hint at their recent struggles of one win in six. Performing an unlikely comeback against Chesterfield at the SMH Group Stadium, after going 2-0 down with 25 minutes left to play, saw the Dale earn a valuable point away from home.
Last time out
On the opening day of the 2023/24 campaign, the Fleet travelled to the Crown Oil Arena ahead of a 5:30pm kick off live on TNT Sports. The relegated EFL club got a strong understanding of life in the National League when a Luke O’Neill wonder goal separated the two sides back on that first day of the campaign.
New faces at the Crown Oil Arena
Following a recall from Wolves, Louie Moulden departed Rochdale and in came Tiernan Brooks on loan from Notts County to replace him. Since his debut, Brooks has made six appearances, earning his first clean sheet last time out against Wealdstone.
Defender Kyron Gordon arrived from AFC Fylde at the start of 2024. The 21-year-old has begun every match since his debut against Kidderminster at the start of January. On loan from Fleetwood Town, winger Cian Hayes joined the side in October. Since his arrival he has featured 12 times for Dale and netted five goals, two of those coming in four minutes on Tuesday night.
Defender Kyle Ferguson, son of former Rangers midfielder Barry, was ruled out with injury for the season so Rochdale last week brought in Dan Sassi for a month from Blackpool.
The manager
Having spent eight years at Rochdale as a player (and still registered as one), Jimmy McNulty began his managerial career at the club in the close season, following a period at the end of last season’s doomed campaign as interim boss. He has 14 wins from 44 games.
