February continues with no let up in the Saturday-Tuesday run of games as our first visit to Horsham is the final one of Fleet’s run of three away games.
Form guide
Horsham’s last outing saw them defeat fellow play-off contenders Hemel Hempstead Town by 2-0 but that was their first win in four matches. Tonight’s hosts are 11th in the National League South, five points outside the play-off places and they also have the quarter-finals of the Isuzu FA Trophy to think about, where their record run in that competition sees them face Southend United.
Last time out
Horsham were in the middle of a great run of form in November when they became the first team to take maximum points at the Kuflink Stadium, winning 2-1 after Dom Samuel’s strike in added time was too late for the Fleet to secure a points. That was the first league meeting of the sides who had only played one previous game in the FA Trophy.

Who’s who
James Hammond enjoyed an impressive first season with the Hornets, contributing to Sussex Senior Cup success, a play-off semi-final, and an FA Cup Second Round appearance. The midfielder scored 15 goals last season including six from set-pieces. He made his senior debut at 16 with Peacehaven & Telscombe, went on to make nearly 200 appearances for Lewes, and spent three seasons at Eastbourne Borough before joining Horsham in 2023.
Lewis Carey is in his third season with the club following his move from Lewes in the summer of 2023. He began his career as an apprentice at Bristol City and has since gained experience with Bromley, Tonbridge Angels, Eastbourne Borough and Thamesmead Town. During his time at Lewes, he was named Player of the Year in his debut 2018/19 season and was recognised as one of the most consistent goalkeepers in the Isthmian League.
