The Fleet look to put Tuesday night’s defeat behind them and refocus on Gateshead’s visit to the Kuflink Stadium for the first time since 2018.
Form guide
Currently inside the playoffs places, Gateshead have found themselves on a mixed run of form lately with two wins, two defeats and a draw from their last five. Throughout the season, the Tynesiders have picked up 17 wins compared to the Fleet’s 12, with 16 points separating the two sides.
Last time out
A difficult day out back in August for the Fleet saw the Heed secure a 4-1 victory with Stephen Wearne (now at MK Dons) completing a second-half hat-trick in the 88th minute. Young defender Kenton Richardson’s long-range effort opened the scoring while Dominic Poleon scored a 17th minute equaliser but hit a late penalty off the crossbar.
New faces at the International Stadium
On loan from Middlesbrough, midfielder Jack Stott – who is a teammate of Bryant Bilongo at Boro – arrived at Gateshead at the start of January. The 20-year-old has since played seven times for the Heed but is yet to find the scoresheet as he settles into his home for the remainder of the season. Another young midfielder through the door is Kieron Evans who joins from Championship side Cardiff City. With previous loan spells at Linfield and Torquay, the young midfielder makes his way up the football pyramid. Joining from Welling United in January, Kain Adom has made 11 appearances for his new club with one goal to his tally.
The manager
Currently caretaker manager at the club following the departure of Mike Williamson to MK Dons in October, Rob Elliot has since managed 27 matches. The former Charlton and Newcastle goalkeeper arrived at Gateshead as a player in 2022 but has since taken charge for his first managerial role.
