Preview: Farnborough

After three matches on the road, the Fleet return to the Kuflink Stadium to take on Farnborough in the last game of a busy February.

Form Guide
Farnborough are just outside the drop zone in 20th place – one point off the relegation places following a huge result on Wednesday night when they secured the three points over fellow relegation rivals Chippenham.

The Fleet picked up a point on the road the night before away at Horsham when an early strike from Rhys Murphy was cancelled out by a second-half equaliser by Dom Samuel.

Last time out
The spoils were shared in the reverse fixture at the Saunders Community Stadium in November despite a dominant display from the Fleet. An early wonder goal from Toby Edser was only enough to secure the point after a second-half goal from Hakeem Sandah cancelled that effort out.

Who’s who
Familiar faces will return to the Kuflink Stadium with the likes of Rakish Bingham (below), Billy Clifford and Wes Fonguck in the Boro lineup. Fonguck, however, is unlikely to feature as per the terms of his signing from the Fleet. Dominic Poleon departed the club in midweek when he signed for Hornchurch.

Along with Poleon, Farnborough have lost goalkeeper Jack Turner, as well as Amir Hadi to Braintree while experienced defender Jordan Tunnicliffe is out for the season with an ACL he sustained last week. New players include goalkeeper Tommy Reid (loaned from Charlton), Alfie Tuck (loaned from QPR), Michael Stickland (loaned from Reading), winger Courtney Senior and striker Glenn Gabriel.

Louie Holzman was on loan from Eastleigh earlier this season and has now returned permanently to Boro after his release by the National League club. He is a tough-tackling centre-back who can also play in the holding role in front of the back line. He is an ex-Reading youngster who also played in the League of Ireland for Bohemians.

Mason Bloomfield is a 29-year-old striker who began his career with Dagenham & Redbridge before earning a move to Norwich City, from where he had loan spells with Hamilton Academical, AFC Fylde and Crawley Town. He later featured for Hartlepool United, Barnet and Bromley, winning the FA Trophy at Wembley with the latter. Bloomfield joined Farnborough for a first spell in December 2022, scoring 11 goals in 21 appearances, and spent the 2023/24 season with Hampton & Richmond Borough. He returned to Farnborough for his third spell last June.
