The Fleet make a first ever to trip to the Artic Stadium in Eltham for a first meeting with Cray Valley Paper Mills in our second pre-season fixture.
Modelling the new 2024/25 away strip on Thursday night (pictured above), the Fleet began the summer schedule in style to send six past Punjab United with five different goalscorers registering on target.
Cray Valley have already travelled to Corinthian this month where they secured the same scoreline as the Fleet, while a trip to South Park Reigate was a goalless draw.
Fleet supporters will likely remember the Millers’ Emirate FA Cup run last season when the then Isthmian South East side took Charlton to a replay. They were unbeaten away last season in an epic league campaign to edge the title from Ramsgate and win promotion to the third tier of non-league for the first time. Before that, the club played at Wembley in the 2019 FA Vase Final when they finished as runners-up.
Managed by former Fleet skipper Steve McKimm, Cray Valley’s most recognisable face in the playing squad is probably midfielder Danny Waldren who played against us for Bromley and Dulwich Hamlet, while striker Adam Coombes is well known from a prolific spell with Welling United.
Tickets for tomorrow’s match are Adults £8, Concessions (65+, 11-17) £5, Under 11s FREE and the Artic Stadium is located at SE9 5HP for your satnav requirements.
- If you’re not travelling to Cray Valley this evening, our women’s team entertain AFC Wimbledon at the Kuflink Stadium with a 7.45pm kick-off. Admission to that one is completely free of charge so please do go along and give the team your backing.
