Preview: Beckenham Town

A spot in the DFDS Kent Senior Cup semi-final against Chatham Town is at stake as the Fleet take on Isthmian South East side Beckenham Town this Tuesday night.

In the same division as the likes of Cray Valley and Ramsgate, Beckenham sit bottom of the table with three wins and 17 defeats but a draw against fourth-placed Lancing on Saturday leaves them with a chance of survival having two games in hand to make up a six-point gap.

En route to the quarter-final, the Becks knocked out Sheppey United by 1-0 and the second round saw them host Dover Athletic. The Crabble side won 4-0 but an infringement of the Kent FA Rules with Dover fielding an ineligible player saw Beckenham reinstated and handed a bye into this quarter-final.

It was back in October when the Fleet earned their spot at this stage when a 5-0 win over Cray Wanderers saw two goals from Toby Edser, plus Billy Clifford, Greg Cundle and Nathan Odokonyero also on the scoresheet.

The Old Stand and half of the Swanscombe End will not be open tomorrow evening. The Main Stand and the Plough End will both be fully open and there is no segregation in place so supporters of both clubs may use our Hospitality Lounge Bar and the Social bar.
