Preview: Bath City

One of the quickest turnarounds of the season is traditionally the August Bank Holiday weekend and 48 hours on from the defeat at Slough Town, Fleet get the chance to put that game behind them by hosting Bath City in the fifth matchday of the season.

Form guide
Bath began the season with a draw and a defeat but have secured maximum points in their two games since then. An opening-day draw at Worthing was a good start and although they suffered a reverse at home to in-form Dover Athletic, they have since seen off Salisbury away from home and on Saturday put Eastbourne to the sword at Twerton Park. Both Bath’s victories have come with the extra bonus of a pair of clean sheets.

The Fleet’s 100% start to the season was ended at Slough which leaves a two-point difference between hosts and visitors at the Kuflink Stadium this Monday

Head-to-head
This it the 78th meeting of the sides and Fleet have won the last six exchanges, with a pair of 3-1 victories in our last games during 2022/23. Bath’s last victory at Stonebridge Road came in December 2015 when they took a 1-0 win home to Somerset, though before that you have to go back to 1990 to find the previous Romans win here.

Who’s who
Will Jenkins Davies
is an attacking midfielder who has impressed since joining from Plymouth Argyle this summer. He has scored in the last two matches for Bath and previously made 70 appearances for Torquay on loan before his release by the Pilgrims.

Bradley Ash knows this division well having started out at Weston-super-Mare. The forward’s goals record at Weston earned him a move to League One Barnsley in 2016 and although that didn’t work out, he has fired goals for the likes of Boreham Wood, Hereford, Chippenham Town, Weymouth and Torquay since. He spent a period on loan with Bath last season and scored his first goal of this campaign on Saturday.

Kieran Parselle (pictured above) is the captain and the centre-back is in his fourth season with the Romans. He arrived from Chippenham and is one of three former Bluebirds who helped their former club to a play-off here against the Fleet in 2022. The 28-year-old has played more than 150 games for Bath having also turned out for Salisbury and Gloucester City in the past.

Tickets
Tickets can be purchased online in advance here with prices rising at midnight. Supporters can also buy on the day at our ticket windows next to the stadium reception/entrance, not at the turnstiles.

Car-parking is available for the special matchday price of £3 at Ebbsfleet International Car Park C. This is cash only and parking is available from 12:30pm. The Rose pub
A reminder that The Rose Pub (1 Rose Street, DA11 9EQ) is open to home and away supporters. Located close to both the ground and Northfleet and Ebbsfleet stations, it’s an ideal venue for that pre- and post-match drink with food available throughout the day.
