Pitch update and volunteer call

The club have been working hard and planning all weekend given the recent cold snap – and as of yesterday the additional snowfall also – with the intention to give our game v Eastbourne Borough every chance of going ahead.

Having inspected areas of the pitch most affected by the cold in recent days, we are pleased to say that the snowfall has acted as a form of insulation and the soil underfoot was soft and playable.

As such, we are appealing for volunteers to help us clear the pitch of snow from midday tomorrow (Tuesday) and into the afternoon. Please dress for the conditions and bring any snow shovels you may have. We will also be gritting and salting walkways in and around spectator-access areas.

There will of course be a pitch inspection by the match referee who is making the effort to get here early for 3.30pm ahead of the game. So as long as we have no further unprecedented or unexpected snowfall and the temperatures remain slightly above zero through tomorrow as forecast, then we will continue to work hard throughout tomorrow to get your game on for you all.

Tickets for the match can be purchased online and programmes pre-ordered here.

The Kuflink Stadium as of 4pm Monday – the snow has helped to insulate the pitch surface
