It may still be five weeks or so away but the Stonebridge Road pitch is ready for the big kick-off after significant work and investment over the close-season period.
As soon as the final whistle blew on the 2014/15 season, the club quickly moved in the tractors to prepare the pitch for the approaching campaign.
The investment and hard work of Head Groundsman Craig Freeman and his assistant Martin Young has certainly paid off as fans can see in the photograph below.
Craig and Martin’s constant daily diet of watering and cutting in these very hot conditions means that the playing surface – long considered one of the best in the league – is ready ahead of schedule and looking in fine fettle indeed!
