‘Not a one-man show’ says Brown of award

Fleet boss Steve Brown refused to take the credit following his award as Skrill South manager of the month for November.

“Being manager of a team is certainly not a one-man show,” reflected a modest Brown “And although the award is labelled manager of the month, in my eyes it’s recognition for all connected with the football club.

“Steve Gritt, David Jupp, Ron Hillyard, Jamie Crosswell and Lewis Hards make up the footballing staff and we’ve worked very hard over the first few months to create a team that the Ebbsfleet supporters can be proud of.

“The players have been first class and the early pressure we came under as a squad only made us stronger and more determined to get the results right. I don’t think I’ve worked with a more united group than this current team and although we are delighted that our current form has earned us this award we are all very keen to extend the run we are on which will keep us near the top end of the league.”

Brown also had words of praise for striker Michael Thalassitis, whose four goals during the month saw him scoop the player of the month award. “I must congratulate Michael on his individual player of the month,” said Brown, “and hopefully as a team and as individuals we can continue to improve as the season progresses.

“I must also thank the board for their continued support and all the staff for all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes.”
