Ebbsfleet United skipper Paul Lorraine has been helping build the club’s community links during a visit to Northfleet Youth Centre on Thursday evening.
Paul gave a hugely well-received talk on ‘How A Footballer Keeps Fit’ to children and parents, demonstrating various fitness techniques and even getting involved in a tug-of-war session.
As part of the Fleet’s ongoing community programme, activities like these prove invaluable in promoting the club locally. Paul’s visit was in association with The Gr@nd Gravesend’s campaign for the Gravesham Sport Relief Mile.
Bridget Webb, one of the mothers in attendance, told FleetOnline: “It’s lovely for adults from Ebbsfleet United to give up their time to train with the kids, they really enjoyed it. Thank you.”
Eleven-year-old Cameron Taylor, meanwhile, enthused: “I feel that he was really inspirational and he helped us put more effort and energy into sports.”
Paul Lorraine said he “was really impressed with everything – the sports coaches and especially the children. They have shown a great attitude and they have listened superbly and I wish them luck with their one-mile run.”
