It’s an O’Neill reveal!

Fleet round off this week’s business of player retentions by announcing the return of Luke O’Neill for season 2023/24 in the National League.

The defender played a full part in the Fleet’s league-title success after signing from Stevenage last summer, going on to play 45 games and scoring memorable goals against Eastbourne Borough, Chelmsford City, Worthing (twice) and Cheshunt. His number of valuable assists during the season also saw him amongst the top four providers at the club in 2022/23.

O’Neill, 31, has previously played at National League level in his youth with Kettering Town and Mansfield Town, but has a wealth of experience from higher up the football ladder, having played in the Championship for Leicester City and Burnley and then League One for the likes of Gillingham, Southend United and AFC Wimbledon.

He has clocked up more than 350 appearances in senior football and will be seeking to add to that significant tally in the National League with a second campaign in a Fleet shirt this coming season.
