Santa may have departed for another year but the world’s favourite pirate makes a storming return on New Year’s Day against Chelmsford City as club mascot Hooky returns after a long lay-off through injury.
After breaking his arm earlier this year, Hooky was facing the prospect of having a metal hook on the ends of both arms which may have caused health & safety issues. But specialists are delighted with his progress and have given him the all-clear for a return to action.
Following an overwhelmingly positive poll calling for his return by Fleet fans on the unofficial club forum, Hooky is pleased as punch to be returning to the field of play where his antics have been missed by the club’s junior (and some more senior) supporters. The pirate himself said, “I just want to make sure fans/the club still want me, nothing worse than overstaying your time. Wembley and Aldershot away are my best memories.”
Welcome back Hooky!
